Kierbeck engineers are experienced at assessing existing designs and have the capability to provide a special mesh solution as a replacement for traditional loose bar layouts.

Mesh sheets can be designed & manufactured as traditional two-way sheets or alternatively as one directional mats for heavier bar layouts in sheet sizes up to 3.5m wide x 12m long, with bars up to 25mm diameter.

Using a 2.5m wide x 12m long one directional mat can be an extremely quick and efficient method of laying slab reinforcement.

The ability to produce mesh sheets hot rolled B grade coil can have particular advantages with the design of suspended floor slabs.

Special mesh sheets utilising flying ends to pass through the wall / floor junction can also be used to reinforce concrete walls, resulting in minimal fixing times.

Mesh generally comes in a limited range of wire diameters, pitches and sheet sizes, forcing designers to over-specify in order to achieve the cross sectional area requirements. Similar, the use of standard 2.4m x 4.8m sheets usually means additional manual handling, lapping and on-site cutting, creating unnecessary site labour costs.

A custom-engineered mesh solution that meets the required cross sectional area of the design in a project-specific sheet size can deliver reduced fixing times and attract savings, whether through optimised steel reinforcement design, project-specific sheet sizes or reduced on-site handling and cutting.
